Ready for work and study

The Dell Inspiron 3525 combines an 8-core Ryzen 7 5825U processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 128GB NVMe SSD plus 500GB HDD. Windows 11 Home runs on a 15.6-inch 120Hz Full HD WVA panel. Integrated Radeon graphics handle everyday visual tasks without a discrete card.

Thermals and battery life

A 65W power adapter charges the 3-cell 41 WHr battery inside the 14.1 by 9.25 by 0.88 inch chassis. The efficient 5000-series CPU keeps heat and fan noise low during typical office workloads and video playback. Power draw stays modest thanks to the integrated graphics design.

Ports and upgrades

Connectivity includes USB 3.2 Type-C, HDMI, USB 2.0, an SD card reader and a headset jack alongside 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The single SSD slot and soldered memory limit future storage and RAM expansion. Buyers who need more storage or user-replaceable memory should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I add more storage to the 128GB PCIe SSD and 500GB HDD, and what connector is used?

The 128GB PCIe SSD uses an M.2 slot; the 500GB HDD occupies a 2.5-inch bay. Adding a second M.2 drive requires removing the base cover and securing the drive with its screw.

Which parts of the 16GB DDR4 memory or the 3-cell 41 WHr battery will need replacement first?

The 3-cell 41 WHr battery will degrade after several hundred charge cycles and need replacement before the 16GB DDR4 memory, which has no moving parts and rarely fails.

What thermal limit appears first on the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U during long workloads with the 65W power supply?

The 15W base-power processor will hit its thermal throttle point before the 65W adapter reaches its limit, causing clock speeds to drop from the 4.5 GHz boost to maintain safe temperatures.
