The Dell Inspiron 5640 is a new 16-inch laptop built for professional workflows. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core 7 150U processor with 10 cores and 12 threads. The system includes 16 GB of DDR5 5200 MHz memory and a 1 TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. A 300-nit WVA touchscreen with ComfortView Plus supports direct input.

Suits mobile professionals needing touch input

The Ice Blue backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader aid productivity in varied lighting. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 handle modern wireless peripherals. Buyers who require discrete graphics performance for rendering or gaming should consider other configurations. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics limit heavy visual workloads.

Intel Core 7 150U with integrated UHD Graphics

The processor reaches 5.4 GHz maximum turbo frequency with 12 MB cache. Integrated graphics share system memory rather than providing dedicated VRAM. This architecture handles office applications, web browsing and video playback efficiently. Demanding 3D or compute tasks will be constrained by the shared graphics subsystem.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR5 5200 memory be expanded later?

The system supports up to 64 GB DDR5, so the installed 16 GB can be increased by adding compatible modules.

What limits sustained performance of the Intel Core 7 150U?

The 10-core 150U relies on integrated graphics and passive thermal headroom; heavy multi-thread loads will hit power and temperature ceilings first.

How loud and hot does the laptop get during all-day use?

With a 0.64 in thin chassis and integrated graphics, fan noise rises under load and the palm-rest area warms noticeably after hours of continuous work.
