Compact 2-in-1 with 1 TB NVMe

This new Latitude 5290 is a detachable 12.5 inch convertible that runs Windows 10 Pro on an 8th-generation Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD are onboard, while Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen. A 65-watt AC adapter and stylus pen are included in the box.

Suits mobile professionals needing pen input.

The detachable keyboard and active stylus support suit field workers, note-takers and presenters who want a tablet form factor with full Windows 10 Pro manageability. Thunderbolt 3, two USB-C ports with DisplayPort and a USB 3.0 port cover modern docking needs. Buyers who require user-replaceable memory should look elsewhere because the 8 GB DDR4 is soldered and the maximum supported capacity is 16 GB.

Soldered 8 GB DDR4 limits future memory expansion

The single most decisive specification is the non-upgradeable 8 GB DDR4 configuration with zero available slots, which caps the system at 16 GB maximum supported memory. If your workflows already approach that ceiling or you anticipate virtual machines, large datasets or heavy multitasking, this chassis cannot accommodate more RAM. All other specs — processor, storage, ports and display — are fixed around that constraint.

Questions about this item

Will the 12.5" FHD touchscreen and detachable keyboard work with my existing USB 3.0 dock?

The tablet has one USB 3.0 port and two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort, so a USB 3.0 dock connects directly and video passes through a Type-C port.

How can I verify the i5-8350U quad-core and 8 GB DDR4 are running at full speed after setup?

Open Task Manager → Performance and confirm four cores show base clock 1.9 GHz with Turbo up to 4.2 GHz, and memory reads 8 GB DDR4.

Does the box include the 65-watt charger and stylus pen, or must I buy them separately?

The package ships with the 65-watt AC adapter and a stylus pen; no extra purchase is required for either.
