Portable workstation for mobile professionals

The DELL Latitude 5290 2-in-1 combines a 12.5" FHD touchscreen with a detachable keyboard for flexible use. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor and 16 GB DDR4 RAM handle business workloads. A 128 GB NVMe M.2 SSD provides fast boot and load times. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Check ports power and memory limits before buying

The system offers one USB 3.0 port and two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3 support. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. Memory is soldered to the board with no expansion slots available. Maximum supported memory is capped at 16 GB. A 65-watt AC adapter is included for charging.

Replaces older ultraportables lacking convertible

This unit upgrades from fixed-hinge laptops that cannot switch to tablet mode. The detachable travel keyboard and included stylus pen enable direct screen interaction. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 suits office apps but not modern gaming or heavy 3D work. Buyers needing larger storage or user-upgradable RAM should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Does the box include the detachable travel keyboard or only the tablet and stylus pen?

The package content lists the 65-watt AC adapter and a stylus pen; the detachable travel keyboard is not included in that list.

The SSD is 128 GB NVMe — would a larger M.2 NVMe drive be needed for heavier workloads?

The 128 GB NVMe M.2 SSD is the only internal storage; the memory is 16 GB DDR4 soldered with no free slots, so storage expansion would require a larger M.2 NVMe drive.

How does the i7-8650U with Intel HD Graphics 620 perform when driving an external display through the USB Type-C ports?

The quad-core i7-8650U reaches up to 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost and the integrated HD Graphics 620 supports DisplayPort over the two USB Type-C ports, enabling external 1080p or higher monitors for office workloads.
