Product Identity

The DELL Latitude 5290 2-in-1 is a detachable 12.3" tablet notebook powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.90 GHz with Intel HD Graphics 620. It comes with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD running Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11.

Build Integration

The detachable travel keyboard and auto-deploy kickstand rotating up to 150 degrees let it shift from tablet to laptop on any flat surface. Connectivity includes a USB 3.0 port, two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort functionality, a headphone jack and Bluetooth 4.2 for peripherals. The 42Whr battery supports all-day mobility.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protects the 1920 x 1080 touchscreen during extended field use. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles everyday productivity workloads without discrete GPU heat. Onboard 8 GB DDR4 memory is not expandable, and the 128 GB SSD capacity may require external storage for large local datasets. Stylus is sold separately.

Questions about this item

How long will the 42Whr battery last under a full day of continuous workloads?

The 42Whr battery is designed to keep pace with the 12.3" FHD screen during extended sessions, though actual runtime varies with brightness, workload and wireless activity.

What are the thermal and acoustic characteristics when the i7-8650U runs at its 4.20 GHz turbo for long periods?

The quad-core i7-8650U can reach 4.20 GHz via Turbo Boost; sustained loads will raise fan speed and surface temperature, but the compact 2-in-1 chassis limits sustained turbo duration.

Which peripherals are required to use the tablet portion as a standalone device?

The tablet includes an auto-deploy kickstand and touchscreen; the detachable travel keyboard and stylus are sold separately, so a USB-C hub or dock adds legacy ports if needed.
