Target users

The Dell Latitude 5420 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built for professionals who need reliable Windows 10 Pro performance in a compact Charcoal Gray chassis. It suits office workers, students and mobile staff handling documents, email and web apps on the move.

Installation and common issues

The system arrives with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed so initial setup follows the standard out-of-box experience. Memory upgrades use DDR3 modules and storage uses a 2.5 inch 256GB SSD bay; the DVD-RW drive is fixed and not user-swappable.

Pre-purchase checks

Verify that 8 GB of DDR3 RAM meets your workload because the platform maximum is 16 GB. Confirm the 1366 x 768 HD+ resolution fits your visual requirements and that VGA plus HDMI outputs match your external display needs. The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics will not support modern 3D titles.
