Latitude 5590 FHD Touch Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch FHD touchscreen ultrabook running Windows 11 Pro. It uses an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 8 GB DDR4 RAM. Storage combines a 512 GB M.2 drive with a 1 TB secondary SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the display.

Suits Mobile Professionals Not Heavy Creatives

This laptop suits mobile professionals needing a durable chassis with touch input and dual solid-state storage for offline files. The quad-core CPU manages office suites and browser workloads well. Buyers who want discrete graphics for video editing or 3D rendering should look elsewhere. The integrated GPU limits heavy creative work.

14.0 Inch IPS Touchscreen Display

The 14.0 inch IPS panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution with touch support. Thin borders keep the footprint compact for travel. Touch input works natively with Windows 11 Pro for direct manipulation. This screen size and resolution define the portable workspace.

Questions about this item

What are the exact height, width and depth measurements I need to clear for this laptop?

The chassis measures .9 inch high at the front, 14.8 inches wide and 9.87 inches deep, so allow that footprint plus cable clearance.

Which screw or latch do I remove first when adding the second M.2 drive, and what do people forget?

Remove the base cover screws, lift the panel, then insert the M.2 module at an angle and secure it with the single retention screw — the step most skipped is re-seating the battery connector before closing.

When will the 8 GB DDR4 memory or the 512 GB primary SSD need replacement?

The soldered 8 GB DDR4 cannot be upgraded; the 512 GB M.2 SSD is user-replaceable and typically lasts five to seven years under normal workloads.
