Dell Latitude 7480 i7-6600U 14" business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.1-inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB drive under Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. The configuration targets professionals who need a compact, managed device for office applications and mobility. It is not suited for buyers who want a dedicated graphics subsystem or a larger display for content creation.

Installation experience and common issues

The unit arrives with the operating system already installed and licensed, so initial setup follows the standard Windows 10 Pro out-of-box experience. Corporate-grade BIOS settings may be locked from the previous fleet deployment, which can block boot-order changes or virtualisation toggles until cleared. Battery health varies because the devices are retired from corporate IT departments, so capacity may be reduced compared with a factory-new pack.

Capacity and headroom

Sixteen gigabytes of memory provides comfortable headroom for typical multitasking, browser workloads and office suites. The 256 GB drive handles the operating system, applications and a moderate working set of documents without pressure. Storage runs out when users keep large local media libraries, virtual-machine images or extensive project archives on the internal drive. Heavy compute tasks such as video rendering or data-science workloads will exceed the thermal and processing envelope of the dual-core U-series chip.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-6600U processor is running at its 2.60 GHz base speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU clock settle at 2.60 GHz when the system is idle.

The listing mentions 16 GB RAM and a 256 GB M.2 drive — are both already installed or do I need to add either component?

Both the 16 GB memory and the 256 GB M.2 solid-state drive come fitted inside the Latitude 7480; nothing extra is required to start working.

Should I choose the 14.1 inch screen model or is there a larger display option for this Latitude 7480?

This Latitude 7480 is offered only with the 14.1 inch panel, so the screen size is fixed for this configuration.
