Latitude 7490 14-inch touchscreen laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business laptop with a Full HD touchscreen, an Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB PCIe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C and USB 3.1 connectivity.

Suited to mobile professionals needing pen

The anti-glare touch display and infra-red webcam support Windows Hello and inking workflows. Integrated UHD Graphics 620 limits the machine to office applications and light media; buyers who need discrete graphics for CAD or gaming should look elsewhere.

16GB RAM and 256GB SSD handle typical workloads

The single-channel 2400MHz DDR4 module and PCIe drive provide responsive multitasking for browser-heavy days and local document storage. The 42Whr three-cell battery and integrated graphics restrict sustained heavy compute or video editing sessions.

Questions about this item

What memory type and speed must already be installed for the 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 module to work?

The laptop uses DDR4 memory running at 2400MHz, so the existing slot must support that standard.

Will the Intel UHD Graphics 620 drive my older DisplayPort monitor at 1920 x 1080?

Yes, the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 supports the DisplayPort output at 1920 x 1080 resolution.
