Target users

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 10 Pro machine with a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor. It suits frequent travellers and client-facing roles that value durable construction and a full selection of legacy and modern ports.

Memory and storage headroom

32GB of DDR4 memory provides generous headroom for heavy multitasking, large spreadsheets and multiple browser tabs without paging. The 256GB M.2 SATA SSD offers fast boot and application loading, though users working with extensive local media libraries or virtual machines will eventually need external or cloud storage.

Graphics limitation

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles office productivity, video playback and multi-monitor output via HDMI and Thunderbolt 3, but it is not suited for 3D rendering, modern gaming or GPU-accelerated creative workloads that require discrete graphics memory.

Questions about this item

Will my existing USB 3.0 peripherals work with the three USB 3.0 ports on this Latitude 7490?

Yes, the three USB 3.0 ports are fully backward compatible with your existing USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices, so keyboards, mice, drives and hubs will work without adapters.

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-8650U is reaching its 4.2 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Open Task Manager’s Performance tab or a tool like HWMonitor while running a demanding task; the CPU clock speed should rise toward 4.2 GHz on active cores when thermal headroom allows.

Does the box contain only the laptop, charger and battery, or are cables for the HDMI and Thunderbolt 3 ports included?

The package includes the laptop, charger and battery; HDMI and Thunderbolt 3 cables are not supplied and must be purchased separately if you need them.
