14-inch FHD touchscreen Latitude

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 touchscreen, Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 8GB DDR4 memory and a 128GB M.2 SATA SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and includes integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. The chassis provides HDMI output, USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port with PowerShare, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. A webcam and microSD card reader are also fitted.

Mobile professionals needing touch input

This configuration suits users who want a compact 14.0-inch Full HD touchscreen for presentations or on-screen annotation while travelling. The quad-core i7-8650U at 1.90GHz with 15W TDP and 8MB cache handles office workloads and video calls. Buyers who need more than 128GB of internal storage or discrete graphics performance for creative rendering should look elsewhere.

128GB M.2 SATA SSD capacity

The single specification that decides fit is the 128GB M.2 SATA SSD; it determines how much local data the laptop can hold without external drives. Memory is fixed at 8GB DDR4 and the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system RAM.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD or look for a larger drive?

The installed 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD suits light workloads and cloud-first users; if you store large media libraries or run virtual machines, plan to add a higher-capacity drive.

How does the Intel Core i7-8650U 1.9 GHz quad-core perform in daily work?

Four cores, eight threads and 8 MB cache handle office suites, browser tabs and video calls smoothly; the 15 W design keeps the 14" chassis cool and quiet.

What does the USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port with PowerShare actually support?

The USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port delivers 5 Gbps data and PowerShare charging for phones or accessories; video output uses the separate HDMI port.
