Mobile business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch touchscreen notebook built for professionals who need a compact Windows 11 Pro machine. Its quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor runs at 1.90GHz with 8MB cache and a 15W thermal design. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the 1920 x 1080 Full HD display.

Connectivity for meetings and travel

Three USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI output and a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 PowerShare port cover monitors, projectors and charging accessories. Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 keep the system online in offices or hotels. The 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD and 8GB DDR4 memory leave no user-replaceable slots for storage or RAM expansion.

Ready to deploy

The package includes the laptop, its battery and a charger so the unit works immediately. A built-in webcam and microSD card reader support video calls and quick file transfers without extra dongles. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and licensed. Buyers who need more storage, discrete graphics or additional memory slots should consider other models.

Questions about this item

Does the 15W Intel Core i7-8650U throttle under sustained multi-core load?

The 8th Gen i7-8650U is a 15W quad-core processor; under continuous heavy workloads it will reduce clocks to stay within its thermal envelope.

How loud and hot does the laptop get when running all day?

The 14" chassis uses integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 and a 15W CPU, so fan noise and surface temperatures stay moderate during typical office use.

What must I already own to use the USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 PowerShare port for charging or video?

You need a USB-C cable or adapter that supports Power Delivery or DisplayPort Alt Mode; the port itself provides data and power output.
