14-inch touchscreen business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 combines a 14.0 inch Full HD touchscreen with an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.90 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD, while Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles display output using shared system memory.

Suits mobile professionals needing pen

The anti-glare panel supports on-cell touch and includes a 720p webcam, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 for video calls. Three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, HDMI 1.4 and a USB-C port with DisplayPort alt mode cover typical docking needs. Buyers who want discrete graphics or more than two memory slots should look elsewhere.

16 GB DDR4 with 32 GB maximum

Two SODIMM slots allow an upgrade to 32 GB of DDR4 if workloads demand more headroom. The installed 256 GB SSD provides the only internal storage bay, so users needing a second drive must rely on external solutions. A 90-day money-back guarantee backs the purchase.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel UHD Graphics 620 is active after Windows 10 Pro boots?

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters and verify Intel UHD Graphics 620 appears without a warning icon; the driver version shown confirms the integrated GPU is working.

Which items are included in the package and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the Latitude 7490 laptop, a pre-installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit licence and the power adapter; no external mouse, carry case or additional software licences are supplied.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR4 configuration or upgrade to the 32 GB DDR4 maximum?

The unit ships with 16 GB DDR4 across two slots; if you routinely run virtual machines or large datasets, add a second 16 GB module to reach the 32 GB ceiling, otherwise the factory 16 GB is sufficient.
