Business laptop with touchscreen

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor. It integrates Intel UHD Graphics 620, 8GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The Full HD touchscreen supports 1920 x 1080 resolution and the chassis includes HDMI, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 with PowerShare, three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and a microSD card reader. A 15W TDP processor and integrated graphics help extend battery runtime during mobile use.

Suited for mobile professionals needing pen

This configuration suits professionals who need a lightweight 14 inch device with touchscreen capability for presentations, annotation or tablet-style use while travelling. The 8GB memory and 256GB NVMe storage handle typical office workloads, web browsing and video conferencing through the integrated webcam. Buyers who require discrete graphics for rendering, larger storage capacities for local media libraries, or user-upgradable memory slots should consider other models.

256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD

The single specification that determines fit is the 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. It provides fast boot and application loading within a fixed capacity that cannot be expanded internally on this platform. If the workflow demands more local space for large datasets, virtual machines or media projects, the drive size becomes the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

How much heat and noise does the Core i7-8650U 15W processor produce during an all-day workload?

The quad-core chip is rated at 15 W, so sustained use stays cool and the fan runs quietly for typical office tasks.

What peripherals or cables must I already own to use the USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 PowerShare port and HDMI output?

You need a USB-C cable or adapter for data, charging or video, plus an HDMI cable for external displays; both ports are built in.

Will the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drive my older 1080p monitor and legacy USB 3.0 devices without extra adapters?

Yes, the HDMI port feeds 1080p screens directly and three USB 3.0 ports accept existing peripherals natively.
