14-inch touchscreen business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch touchscreen laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.90 GHz. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD, running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. The Full HD display uses Intel UHD Graphics 620 with shared system memory.

Suits mobile professionals.

This configuration suits professionals who need a portable, touch-enabled device for office applications, web browsing and video calls. The integrated graphics and 8 GB of memory limit its suitability for buyers who want more graphics power for 3D rendering, modern gaming or intensive video editing. Memory can be expanded to 32 GB across two slots if required.

512 GB SSD and 8 GB DDR4 baseline

The 512 GB solid-state drive provides the primary storage and boot volume, while 8 GB of DDR4 handles active workloads. Two memory slots allow an upgrade to 32 GB maximum. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory, so total RAM capacity directly affects graphics performance.

Questions about this item

What type of power adapter is included so the 1.9 GHz i7-8650U can run at full speed?

A standard DC-in power adapter is supplied in the box; plug it into the round charging port to keep the processor at its rated 1.90 GHz under load.

Will my older USB 3.0 flash drives and HDMI 1.4 monitor work with the three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and HDMI 1.4 output?

Yes, the three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and the HDMI 1.4 connector are backward-compatible, so existing USB 3.0 drives and 1080p monitors function normally.

How can I confirm the 14.0 inch 1920 x 1080 touchscreen and Intel UHD Graphics 620 are active after Windows 10 Pro boots?

Open Settings > System > Display to verify 1920 x 1080 resolution and touch input, then check Device Manager > Display adapters for Intel UHD Graphics 620.
