Dell Latitude E5570 business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5570 is a 15.6" business laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500 GB NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate productivity.

Sustained workload behaviour

The i7-6600U maintains its 2.60 GHz base clock during extended tasks while Intel HD Graphics 520 handles display output on the 1920 x 1080 FHD panel. Two memory slots allow an upgrade to 16 GB if workloads demand more headroom. The NVMe drive keeps boot and application load times consistent under continuous use.

Upgrade context

This unit replaces an older hard-drive laptop or a system limited to 4 GB of RAM, delivering faster storage and a modern 64-bit OS in one step. The jump is worthwhile when moving from mechanical storage to NVMe and when the dual-core CPU meets the workload. Buyers who need more storage or a dedicated graphics processor should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How loud or warm does the E5570 get when the i7-6600U runs at 3.40 GHz all day?

The dual-core i7-6600U has a 15 W TDP and Intel HD Graphics 520, so under sustained load the fan stays audible but not intrusive and the chassis remains warm rather than hot.

Which existing parts must I already have to use the two memory slots that support up to 16 GB?

You need DDR3 SO-DIMM modules; the laptop ships with 8 GB installed across the two slots, so adding more means matching DDR3 speed and voltage.

Will the 500 GB M.2 NVMe drive work with my older 2.5-inch drive caddy?

The 500 GB NVMe drive uses an M.2 PCIe interface and cannot be mounted in a 2.5-inch caddy; the E5570 has no 2.5-inch bay, so the NVMe slot is the only internal storage option.
