Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

This configuration suits users who require a full-size HDMI port, VGA output, and an internal DVD-RW drive for older peripherals or media. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 handles general productivity but is not intended for modern gaming or intensive 3D rendering. Buyers who need a solid-state drive, a touchscreen, or a higher-resolution display should look at other models.

Quad-core i7-3720QM processor determines

The Intel Core i7-3720QM provides four physical cores with Hyper-Threading for eight logical threads, defining the laptop's ability to run parallel workloads. Clock speed sits at 2.90 GHz with Turbo Boost capability. This CPU choice is the primary factor in whether the system meets your performance requirements for office applications and multitasking.

Questions about this item

How do I replace the 2.5-inch 500 GB hard drive later?

The 2.5-inch 500 GB hard drive is user-replaceable; remove the bottom cover, swap the drive and reinstall Windows 10 Pro 64-bit from the included COA.

What limits sustained performance of the Core i7-3720QM?

The Intel HD Graphics 4000 shares system memory, so heavy GPU workloads reduce the 8 GB DDR3 available to the quad-core processor.

How loud and hot does the 14-inch laptop get under all-day load?

The anti-glare 1366 x 768 LED display and quad-core CPU generate noticeable warmth; fan noise rises during extended use but remains typical for a business notebook.
