Latitude E6520 for office professionals

The Dell Latitude E6520 is a 15.6 inch laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i7 2nd Gen processor running at 2.70 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a 500 GB SATA hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed for immediate deployment in managed environments.

Optical drive and security module

An internal DVD±RW drive lets you read and write legacy optical media without external peripherals. A TPM 1.2 security chip provides hardware-based encryption support for disk protection and platform integrity checks. Integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics drive the HD+ LED backlit display and external monitors via VGA or HDMI.

Check display and storage expectations

The 15.6 inch panel uses a standard HD+ resolution rather than full HD, so verify this pixel density suits your workflow before ordering. The primary drive is a mechanical 2.5 inch hard disk, not a solid-state device, which affects boot and application load times. Confirm that integrated graphics meet the demands of any specialised software you plan to run.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.5" 500 GB SATA hard drive need replacement later?

The 2.5" 500 GB SATA hard drive is a mechanical part that can wear out over time; replacing it with another 2.5" SATA drive or a compatible SSD is straightforward.

What limit appears first when the Intel Core i7-2620M runs at 2.70 GHz all day?

The dual-core processor with 6 MB L3 cache and integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics will hit thermal limits before the 16 GB DDR3 memory becomes a bottleneck.

How loud and hot does the chassis get during continuous use?

The 15.6" LED-backlit display and QM67 chipset share a single cooling fan; under sustained load the fan spins up noticeably and the keyboard deck becomes warm.
