Dell Latitude E6520 15.6" Business Laptop

The Dell Latitude E6520 is a 15.6-inch business laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i5 processor running at 2.20GHz. It comes with 16GB of DDR3 memory and a 128GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed, making it ready for typical office tasks and legacy application support.

Optical Drive and Security Hardware

An internal DVD-RW drive handles CD and DVD media for archiving or software installation. A Trusted Platform Module security chip provides hardware-based encryption support for data protection. The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics drive both the built-in display and external monitors through VGA and HDMI outputs.

Storage and Memory Headroom

The 128GB SSD offers enough capacity for the operating system, core productivity suites and a modest working set of files. With 16GB of DDR3 RAM installed, the system handles multitasking across browser tabs, document editing and video conferencing without paging. Demanding creative workloads, large local databases or modern gaming will exceed the available storage and integrated graphics capability.

Questions about this item

Will the 128 GB SSD or the 16 GB DDR3 memory need replacement first?

The 128 GB SSD has a finite write endurance; the 16 GB DDR3 modules are solid-state and typically outlast the drive.

What limits performance first during a long compile — the dual-core 2.20 GHz CPU or the Intel HD 3000 graphics?

The dual-core 2.20 GHz CPU reaches 100 % utilisation before the integrated Intel HD 3000 becomes the bottleneck.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the 15.6 in chassis feel after hours on mains power?

The single fan spins up to a noticeable but office-tolerable level; the palm-rest area stays warm to the touch rather than hot.
