Latitude E6530 15.6" mobile workstation

The Dell Latitude E6530 is a 15.6-inch laptop built around a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor running at 2.90 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a 2.5-inch 1 TB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Professional 64-bit is pre-installed. Integrated graphics drive the 1366 x 768 HD LED display. A DVD-RW drive, fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module chip complete the package.

Suits office workers needing legacy ports.

This configuration suits professionals who rely on VGA and HDMI outputs for older projectors or dual-monitor desks. The DVD-RW drive handles optical media archives. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card for 3D rendering or high-refresh gaming should look elsewhere. The 1366 x 768 panel and integrated graphics also limit colour-critical design work. The dual-core CPU will bottleneck heavily threaded workloads such as video encoding or virtualisation clusters.

Fits a docked desk setup with room for peripherals

The HDMI and VGA ports let you connect two external displays without adapters. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 g/n Wi-Fi cover wired and wireless networking. Three USB ports accept a mouse, keyboard and backup drive simultaneously. The 1 TB SSD leaves the single 2.5-inch bay occupied, so internal storage expansion requires an external enclosure. The 64-bit Windows 10 Pro licence enables domain join and BitLocker for managed fleets.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop include the 16 GB DDR3 memory module, or must I supply my own?

The 16 GB DDR3 memory is already installed, so no additional module is required.

Can I connect my older VGA monitor to the HDMI output on this unit?

The laptop provides both a VGA port and an HDMI port, so a VGA monitor plugs directly into the VGA output without an adapter.

How can I verify the 1 TB SSD is recognised after first boot?

Open File Explorer and confirm the drive shows roughly 1 000 GB of available space, then check Device Manager to see the SSD listed under Disk drives.
