Questions about this item

How hot or loud does the Latitude E6420 get when the Intel Core i7-2620M runs all day?

The dual-core Intel Core i7-2620M at 2.70 GHz and integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 produce modest heat; the chassis fan spins up under sustained load but stays quiet in typical office use.

What must I already own to start working with this E6420?

Only the supplied AC adapter is required; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed, 8 GB DDR3 and the 1 TB 2.5" SSD are fitted, and Wi-Fi 6205 plus Gigabit Ethernet are built in.

Will my older VGA monitor and DVDs work with this 14.1" Latitude?

Yes — the laptop provides a VGA port and an HDMI port for external displays, and the internal DVD±RW drive reads and writes CDs and DVDs.
