Compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0 inch HD notebook built around a dual-core Intel Core i5-5300U processor running at 2.30 GHz with a 2.90 GHz turbo. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a fresh 500GB SSD, providing a responsive Windows 10 Home 64-bit environment for everyday office tasks.

New SSD and OS readiness

The newly installed 500GB 2.5 inch SATA solid-state drive replaces any older mechanical storage, cutting boot and application load times. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-loaded, and the platform qualifies for a Microsoft Windows 11 Pro upgrade when the organisation decides to migrate.

Memory headroom and storage limits

Two memory slots support a maximum of 16GB, so adding another 8GB module doubles capacity for heavier multitasking. The single 500GB drive will fill quickly with large media libraries or local databases, requiring external storage or a larger internal drive for those workloads.

Questions about this item

How much RAM can I add to the two DDR3 slots before hitting the 16 GB limit?

The board accepts up to 16 GB total across its two DDR3 slots, so you can expand from the fitted 8 GB by adding another 8 GB module.

Will the Intel HD Graphics 5500 throttle first during long rendering sessions?

Sustained loads push the integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 to its thermal ceiling before the dual-core i5-5300U reaches its own limit, so graphics performance drops first.

How loud does the fan get when the i5-5300U runs at 2.90 GHz turbo all day?

The cooling fan spins up noticeably once the i5-5300U holds its 2.90 GHz turbo for extended periods, producing a steady audible hum in a quiet room.
