Core i5-5300U business laptop

The DELL Latitude E7450 ships with Windows 10 Pro, an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor at 2.30 GHz, 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB drive. It is built for professionals who need a reliable machine for office applications, web browsing and light multitasking. The 14.0 inch screen provides a clear workspace for documents and email. This unit arrives in new condition.

Upgrade from older ultraportables

The system replaces ageing 12.5 inch ultraportables that struggle with modern Windows 10 workloads. The jump is worth it when your current laptop cannot keep 8 GB of RAM or a 256 GB drive without slowing down. Buyers who need discrete graphics, user-upgradable memory or a larger display will not find those features here.

256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM headroom

The 256 GB solid-state drive holds the operating system, productivity suites and a moderate local file library with room to spare. Eight gigabytes of memory keeps several browser tabs and office programs open simultaneously. Heavy video editing, large databases or virtual machines will exhaust both capacity and RAM quickly.

Questions about this item

Will the 12.5-inch screen fit into a 14.0-inch chassis without modification?

The supplier lists a 12.5-inch display and a 14.0-inch screen size, suggesting the panel sits in a larger bezel; no adapter or bracket is mentioned, so the unit mounts as delivered.

What step is often missed when installing Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on the Core i5-5300U?

After the clean install, the Intel chipset and graphics drivers for the 5th-generation processor must be added before Windows Update runs, otherwise the 2.30 GHz dual core may throttle.

Which component will likely need replacement first on a Grade-B unit with 8 GB of soldered memory?

The 256 GB solid-state drive is the only user-replaceable storage part; the 8 GB RAM is not upgradeable, so plan for a larger SSD when capacity runs low.
