Dell Latitude E7470 Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch ultrabook built around a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.6GHz. It ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and an AC adapter is included in the box. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display.

Thermals and power draw

Integrated graphics and a low-power dual-core processor keep heat output modest during typical office workloads. The fan remains quiet under light use such as document editing or web browsing. Power consumption stays low thanks to the efficient 6th-generation architecture and solid-state storage. No discrete GPU means there is no additional thermal load from graphics-intensive tasks.

Build integration

Three USB 3.0 ports provide connectivity for peripherals and external storage without needing a hub. Mini DisplayPort and HDMI outputs allow dual-monitor setups for expanded workspace. Gigabit Ethernet offers a wired network option alongside 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN. The compact chassis frees desk space and suits mobile professionals who need a complete, ready-to-use system.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 512GB SSD and what step is often missed?

The 512GB SSD comes pre-installed in the Dell Latitude E7470, so no installation is required; the step users sometimes miss is simply ensuring the AC adapter is connected before first boot.

What maintenance or replacement will the 8GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 8GB DDR4 memory is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded or replaced; if a fault develops the entire mainboard would need service.

What limit appears first on the Core i7-6600U during sustained loads?

The dual-core Core i7-6600U at 2.6GHz reaches its thermal ceiling before the Intel HD Graphics 520 or the 512GB SSD become bottlenecks.
