Home office users and students needing

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 and single DVD±RW drive suit everyday productivity, web browsing and media playback. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a dedicated graphics card for modern gaming should look at something else. The compact SFF case limits internal expansion compared with larger towers.

16 GB DDR3 memory configuration

This unit comes maxed out at 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, the highest amount offered for this model. The memory uses 240-pin DIMM modules, so any future upgrade must match that specification. No other memory type or larger capacity is supported by this platform.

Questions about this item

How much power does the i7-3770 draw under sustained load and will the SFF fan stay quiet?

The i7-3770 is a 77 W processor; the small-form-factor chassis uses a single system fan that ramps up under load but remains moderate for typical office work.

Does the 16 GB of DDR3 240-pin memory fill every slot or can I add more later?

The 16 GB kit occupies two of the four DIMM slots, leaving two free for future DDR3 upgrades up to the board maximum.

Will my VGA-only monitor work with the HDMI and VGA ports on this OptiPlex 3010?

Yes — the integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 provides both a native VGA output and an HDMI port, so a VGA cable connects directly without adapters.
