Dell OptiPlex 7010 Mini Tower

This Dell OptiPlex 7010 Mini Tower desktop computer is built for office and home users who need a ready-to-use Windows 10 Pro system. It ships with a 3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3770 processor, 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 256 GB solid state drive. A DVD±RW drive, USB keyboard and USB mouse are included in the box.

Installation and common issues

The mini tower chassis uses standard 240-pin DDR3 DIMM slots if you decide to expand memory up to the 32 GB maximum. Adding a discrete graphics card is limited by the proprietary motherboard layout and power supply, so most upgrades stay with the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and activated, leaving only driver updates for peripherals.

Processor and graphics capability

The quad-core i7-3770 runs at a base frequency of 3.4 GHz and can reach 3.9 GHz with Turbo Boost. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 operates at a base frequency of 650 MHz with a maximum dynamic frequency of 1.15 GHz, supporting up to three simultaneous displays via Intel Flexible Display Interface. This configuration suits general productivity and media playback but is not suited to modern gaming or GPU-accelerated workloads.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-3770 is running at its 3.40 GHz base speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU clock settle at 3.40 GHz under light load; the processor can reach 3.90 GHz Turbo Boost when all four cores are busy.

What comes in the box and what must I source separately?

The tower ships with 16 GB DDR3 RAM, a 2.5" 256 GB SSD, DVD±RW drive, USB keyboard, USB mouse, and Windows 10 Pro installed; a display is not included.

Which memory capacity should I choose among the 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB DDR3 options?

The 16 GB configuration already installed handles typical multitasking well; select 32 GB only if you run memory-heavy workloads such as virtual machines or large media projects.
