Dell OptiPlex 7010 MT i7-3770 desktop

This Dell OptiPlex 7010 Mini Tower is a new desktop computer built around a 3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3770 processor running at 3.40 GHz with 3.90 GHz turbo. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 2.5 inch 512 GB solid state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed along with a DVD±RW drive, integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, gigabit Ethernet, USB keyboard and mouse.

Home office users seeking a ready-to-run Windows PC

The system suits buyers who want a complete desktop for everyday productivity, web browsing and office applications without assembly. Integrated graphics and the compact tower chassis limit its appeal for modern gaming, video editing or workloads that demand a discrete GPU, additional drive bays or newer memory standards.

16 GB DDR3 memory capacity

The installed 16 GB of DDR3 memory determines how many applications run smoothly at once. This configuration handles typical multitasking well; users planning heavy virtualisation or large dataset work should verify whether the board supports the 32 GB maximum mentioned in the series specifications.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB DDR3 memory need to be upgraded to the 32 GB maximum later?

The system ships with 16 GB of DDR3 installed and supports up to 32 GB total across the available DIMM slots.

What component hits its limit first when the Intel Core i7-3770 runs at 3.90 GHz Turbo Boost for long periods?

The Intel HD Graphics 4000 tops out at 1.15 GHz max dynamic frequency, so graphics workloads saturate before the CPU cores do.

How much heat and fan noise should I expect from the Mini Tower when the 512 GB SSD and i7-3770 run all day?

The 65 W quad-core processor and solid-state drive keep thermal output modest; the MT chassis uses a single managed fan that stays quiet under typical office loads.
