Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower

This desktop computer uses a second-generation Intel Core i7-2600 processor with four cores and a 3.40 GHz base clock. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory, a 128 GB solid-state drive and a 2 TB hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed. A DVD±RW drive, USB wireless dongle, keyboard and mouse are included.

Compatibility checks

The motherboard uses 240-pin DIMM slots for DDR3 memory only. The 265 W power supply limits graphics card upgrades. The mini-tower case accepts standard 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 drives the video outputs. Gigabit Ethernet and the USB Wi-Fi dongle handle networking.

Sustained load behaviour

The quad-core CPU can reach 3.90 GHz turbo speeds during extended multi-threaded workloads. The SSD provides fast boot and application launch times while the 2 TB hard drive handles bulk storage. Integrated graphics are suitable for office tasks and media playback but not for 3D rendering. The 265 W power supply delivers stable power for the configured components.
