A 1U rack server with one Xeon E5-2637 v3 quad-core CPU, 16GB DDR4, two 300GB 15K SAS drives and an H730 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 16GB
HDD 2 x 300GB 15K
The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2637 v3 quad-core processor running at 3.5 GHz with 16 GB of DDR4 memory. It ships with two 300 GB 15 K SAS drives and a PERC H730 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750 W hot-swap power supplies and iDRAC8 remote management complete the package.
This configuration suits workloads that fit within 16 GB of installed memory and benefit from low-latency 15 K SAS spindles. It is not suited for buyers who require more than one processor, more than eight 2.5-inch drive bays, or an operating system included. The four 1 GbE ports handle standard network traffic; 10 GbE uplinks are an optional upgrade.
The motherboard accepts a maximum of two processors, but only one is installed and the chipset does not support a third. If the application demands dual-socket performance from day one, this unit will need a second compatible Xeon added before deployment.
