2U rack server with a 10-core 2.3 GHz Xeon processor, 16 GB DDR4 memory, three 1 TB SATA drives and an H730 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 16GB
HDD 3 x 1TB
The Dell PowerEdge R730XD is a 2U rack server built for storage-dense workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3 GHz and 16 GB of DDR4 memory. Three 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives and a PERC H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache are included. Dual 750 W redundant power supplies provide resiliency.
This configuration suits organisations that need many hot-plug drive bays in a compact chassis for backup, archiving or software-defined storage. The single-socket layout and lack of installed GPUs make it unsuitable for workloads that require parallel graphics acceleration or maximum per-core frequency. Buyers needing more than 16 GB of memory or a second processor must add those components separately.
The defining specification is the 24-bay 2.5-inch front panel paired with the H730 controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. This combination determines how many drives you can install and which redundancy schemes are available. The server also includes a DVD-ROM drive, iDRAC8 remote management and up to six PCIe 3.0 expansion slots.

Other versions of this model
The H730 controller supports both SAS and SATA drives, and the chassis accepts up to 24 x 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives, so your existing SAS drives can be added to the available bays.
Check the iDRAC8 Lifecycle Controller or the system BIOS during POST; both will display the detected 10-core 2.3GHz processor and the 16GB DDR4 installed across the 24 DIMM slots.
The server ships with one E5-2650 v3 CPU, 16GB DDR4, three 1TB 7.2K SATA drives in trays, H730 1GB RAID controller, two 750W redundant power supplies, DVD drive, and 4 x 1GbE daughter card; operating system, additional CPUs, memory modules, drives, and upgraded iDRAC licences are not included.
