Precision 5530 UHD touch workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation with a 3840 x 2160 IPS touchscreen. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor at 2.60 GHz with turbo up to 4.30 GHz. Dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics with 4GB GDDR5 and 8GB DDR4 system memory support professional visualisation workloads. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Installation and common issues

The unit arrives fully assembled with a 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and Windows 10 Pro configured. Memory is soldered to 8GB and cannot be upgraded to the 32GB maximum the platform supports. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 ports handle external displays without adapters. Buyers who want user-replaceable storage or more than 8GB of RAM should consider a different chassis.

Sustained-load behaviour

Dual-fan cooling is designed to maintain airflow during extended compute or rendering tasks. The Quadro P1000 4GB GDDR5 delivers stable performance for professional graphics applications over long sessions. Thunderbolt 3 provides x4 PCIe bandwidth for high-throughput peripherals without throttling. The 72% colour gamut panel remains consistent for colour-critical work.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 3840 x 2160 touchscreen and Quadro P1000 are active after setup?

Open Display Settings to verify the 3840 x 2160 resolution and test multi‑touch response; in Device Manager check that NVIDIA Quadro P1000 appears under Display adapters with 4 GB GDDR5 memory.

What ships in the box and what must I add myself?

The laptop, a Dell AC adapter and Windows 10 Pro are included; the 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and 8 GB DDR4 RAM are already installed, so no extra storage or memory is required for the listed configuration.

Which capacity should I choose if I need more than the 512 GB drive?

The manufacturer offers 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD options; select the 1 TB version at purchase if you require additional space beyond the fitted 512 GB.
