Mobile workstation with 15.6" UHD touchscreen

The Dell Precision 5530 pairs an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor with an NVIDIA Quadro P2000 4GB GDDR5 graphics card. It runs Windows 11 Pro on a 3840 x 2160 IPS panel that supports multi-touch input. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 128 GB M.2 plus 2 TB SSD storage.

Suited for CAD, rendering and colour-critical tasks

Professionals who need ISV-certified graphics, a wide-gamut 72% colour display and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity will benefit from this configuration. Buyers who require a newer processor architecture, higher refresh-rate panels or user-upgradeable memory slots should consider other platforms.

3840 x 2160 touch display decides fit

The 15.6-inch UHD IPS touchscreen is the specification that determines whether this workstation matches the workflow. If the resolution, touch layer and 72% colour coverage align with the content-creation pipeline, the Precision 5530 delivers the required visual workspace.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop need a Thunderbolt 3 dock to run two external 4K monitors?

The Precision 5530 provides one Thunderbolt 3 port and one HDMI 2.0 port, so two 4K displays can be driven without a dock.

Will my existing DDR4 SODIMM modules work if I want to expand the 32 GB installed?

The system uses DDR4 memory; any compatible DDR4 SODIMM can be added up to the platform limit.

How can I verify the UHD touch panel is running at 3840 x 2160 after setup?

Open Windows Display Settings and confirm the resolution shows 3840 x 2160, then test touch response on the screen.
