Dell Precision 7550 15.6" mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 7550 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation powered by an Intel Core i7-10850H six-core processor with 12 MB L3 cache. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory, a 1 TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD, and an NVIDIA Quadro T2000 graphics card with 4 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This workstation suits engineers and designers running certified CAD or 3D applications who need ISV-certified drivers and a professional GPU. Buyers who want a lighter chassis for frequent travel, a higher refresh-rate panel for gaming, or a newer processor generation should consider other options.

Quadro T2000 4 GB GDDR6 professional GPU

The NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with 4 GB GDDR6 memory delivers certified performance for SolidWorks, Revit, and similar ISV applications. It supports external displays via Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0. Systems relying solely on integrated graphics cannot match this level of driver certification and viewport stability.

Questions about this item

What does Thunderbolt 3 on this Precision 7550 cap in practice?

Two Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports carry data, video and charging through a single cable; actual throughput depends on the connected device and cable quality.

What physical space does the 1 TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD need to fit?

The drive uses a standard M.2 2280 slot inside the chassis; one slot is occupied by the installed 1 TB SSD and a second slot is typically available for expansion.

How is Windows 11 Pro installed on this unit, and what step is often missed?

Windows 11 Pro 64-bit comes preloaded; after first boot, connect to the internet so the licence can activate and the latest updates can download.
