Mobile workstation for certified apps

The Dell Precision 7550 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation aimed at engineers and designers who run ISV-certified CAD, 3D rendering or data-analysis software. Its six-core Intel Core i7-10850H processor and NVIDIA Quadro T2000 graphics with 4 GB GDDR6 deliver the compute headroom those workloads demand.

Connectivity and expansion inside the chassis

Two Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports with PowerShare, an SD card reader, Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 let you attach external displays, storage and peripherals without a dock. The 1 TB NVMe PCIe SSD and 16 GB DDR4 memory are user-accessible, and the platform supports up to 64 GB of RAM for future upgrades.

Thermals tuned for long rendering sessions

A 45 W processor package and discrete Quadro GPU share a cooling solution designed to sustain clock speeds during extended 3D renders or simulation runs rather than only brief bursts. The vapour-chamber layout keeps surface temperatures manageable during continuous load, so the system remains stable through overnight batch jobs.

Questions about this item

Does the 45 W Core i7-10850H throttle under long renders?

The 6-core 10850H runs at a 45 W base power; sustained loads will hit thermal limits before the chip can hold its peak turbo indefinitely.

How loud and hot does the chassis get during all-day CAD work?

Dual-fan cooling keeps the Quadro T2000 and CPU within spec, but the aluminium deck warms noticeably and fan noise rises to an audible hum after several hours.

Which dock or monitor cables do I need on day one?

Two Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports, Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 are built in; bring a Thunderbolt dock or the appropriate DP/HDMI cable for your display.
