Low-profile vandal dome IP camera

The DWC-MV85WIATW is a new low-profile vandal dome IP camera built for surveillance systems that need a compact, rugged form factor. It delivers 5 MP imaging on a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor and connects through a single RJ45 port. ONVIF compliance ensures broad compatibility with network video recorders and management platforms.

Motorised varifocal lens with 4.2× optical zoom

The defining specification is the 2.7–13.5 mm F1.4 varifocal p-iris lens with motorised zoom and auto-focus. It provides a horizontal field of view adjustable from 96° down to 31° and 4.2× optical zoom, letting installers frame the scene precisely without swapping lenses.

PoE-powered with IR and audio integration

Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af class 3) removes the need for a separate 12 V supply, drawing up to 8.7 W. Built-in IR illuminators cover 100 ft for night vision, while one audio input and one output with G.711 compression add two-way sound. H.265, H.264 and MJPEG streams run at up to 30 fps, freeing bandwidth and storage for longer retention.

Questions about this item

What does the 5 MP sensor actually deliver once the camera is installed?

The 1/2.8" CMOS captures up to 2592 x 1944 pixels at 30 fps using H.265, H.264 or MJPEG, giving 2K detail across a 96° to 31° horizontal view.

How does the RJ45 PoE connection limit power and data in practice?

The single RJ45 port carries both 10/100 Ethernet and IEEE 802.3af Class 3 power, capping consumption at 8.7 W and removing the need for a separate 12 V supply.

What mounting clearance does the low-profile vandal dome need?

The vari-focal p-iris lens with motorised zoom and auto-focus sits inside a compact dome housing designed for surface or pendant mounting on standard junction boxes.
