12-Piece Passive Video Balun Kit

This kit supplies six matched pairs of passive transceivers that convert BNC camera signals to run over twisted-pair cabling. It is intended for installers extending HDCVI, TVI, AHD or CVBS video feeds without adding power supplies at each camera location.

Transmission Distance and Resolution Headroom

The baluns carry 720P, 960P and 1080P signals over CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 cable. CVI and AHD formats reach 400 metres, while TVI stops at 200 metres; beyond those ranges the signal degrades and a different transmission method is required.

Built-In Surge Protection

Each unit includes surge and transient protection plus interference rejection, so the video path is hardened against induced noise and voltage spikes without any external power source.

Questions about this item

Will these baluns work with my existing 720P AHD cameras and Cat5e cable runs?

Yes, the kit supports 720P, 960P and 1080P signals over Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 and is compatible with HDCVI, TVI, AHD and CVBS formats.

How can I verify the 400-metre CVI range is achieved after installation?

Check for a stable, noise-free 1080P image at the DVR end; built-in surge and transient protection plus interference rejection help maintain signal quality up to the rated distance.

Does the 12-piece pack include the Cat5e patch leads or only the balun pairs?

The box contains six balun pairs (12 pieces total); Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 cable must be purchased separately.
