Splits a PoE feed into 12 V DC power and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet for non-PoE devices
The DSC-PS5712S separates a Power over Ethernet feed into a 12 V DC supply and a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet link. It connects to a PoE switch through a shielded RJ45 input and provides a male RJ45 plus a 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC jack on a 21 cm lead.
This splitter suits installers who need to run a single cable to a non-PoE device and extract 12 V power at the far end. It is not for equipment requiring voltages other than 12 V, currents above 1 A, or Gigabit Ethernet throughput.
The unit comfortably handles standard IEEE 802.3 af Class 3 loads such as typical IP cameras or wireless access points. Headroom ends when the attached device draws more than 1 A or when ambient temperature exceeds 45 °C.

You need a switch or injector that complies with IEEE 802.3af and delivers 44-54VDC over a shielded RJ-45 connection.
Yes, the RJ-45 male output carries 10/100Mbps Ethernet data unchanged, so legacy Fast Ethernet devices and Cat5e cables remain compatible.
Measure the DC jack (5.5 × 2.1 mm) with a multimeter; it should read 12VDC while the connected non-PoE device powers on and passes 10/100Mbps traffic.
