Frameless In-Wall Pair

The Earthquake Sound EWS600 is a pair of edgeless in-wall speakers designed for home audio and theatre installations. Their frameless construction and magnetically attached paintable grilles allow the units to blend seamlessly into any wall surface. Each speaker uses a 6.5 inch Kevlar cone midbass driver and a 25mm swiveling silk dome neodymium tweeter. The system presents an 8 Ohm nominal impedance suitable for standard amplifiers.

Sustained Output Behaviour

Rated at 350 Watts maximum power handling, the speakers employ a 12dB per octave crossover network with polyswitch protection to safeguard drivers during extended high-level playback. The stiff, low-mass Kevlar cones maintain composure during demanding low-frequency passages without excessive excursion. +/- 3dB bass and treble adjustment switches let the installer tailor the response to room acoustics for consistent long-term tonal balance.

8 Ohm Nominal Impedance

The 8 Ohm load ensures broad compatibility with most home theatre receivers and stereo amplifiers without requiring specialised high-current designs. Gold-plated spring-loaded terminals provide a secure, low-resistance connection for reliable signal transfer. The Turn-N-Lock mounting mechanism simplifies installation into standard wall cavities. This impedance characteristic is the primary factor determining amplifier pairing.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 350 W pair produce during all-day use?

These passive in-wall speakers have no internal amplifier or fan, so they generate no audible noise and negligible heat during extended operation.

What amplifier or receiver do I need to drive the 8 Ohm EWS600 pair?

Any stereo amp or AV receiver rated for 8 Ohm loads and able to supply up to 350 W per channel will match the speakers' maximum power handling.

Will the 6.5 inch Kevlar woofer and 25 mm silk dome tweeter integrate with my older 8 Ohm surround speakers?

Yes — both drivers present an 8 Ohm nominal impedance, so they can share the same amplifier channels as other 8 Ohm speakers without mismatch.
