  • 8" polypropylene woofers deliver deep bass down to 45 Hz
  • 1" silk-dome NEO tweeters swivel for precise high-frequency aim

  • 200 W peak handling lets dynamic passages play cleanly without distortion
  • Turn ‘N’ Lock mechanism plus spring terminals make ceiling installation quick and secure

Eight-inch reference ceiling speakers

Earthquake Sound R800 units install flush in the ceiling and ship as two stereo pairs for whole-room coverage. The edgeless frame and paintable grille let the hardware disappear into any décor while the 8-ohm load matches most home amplifiers without extra wiring complexity.

Capacity and headroom

Each driver handles 200 W peak power and delivers 92 dB sensitivity from 45 Hz to 20 kHz. The polypropylene woofer with a wider surround moves enough air for living-room listening levels, though deep sub-bass below 45 Hz will still require a separate subwoofer.

Upgrade path

The 12 dB/octave crossover and swivelling 1-inch silk-dome tweeter replace basic builder-grade coaxials that lack excursion control or thermal protection. The jump is worth it when the install can accommodate the 116 mm mounting depth and 240 mm cut-out.

Questions about this item

Will the 8-ohm impedance work with my older amplifier that expects an 8-ohm load?

Yes, each speaker presents a single 8-ohm impedance, matching the load your amplifier expects.

How can I confirm the 1-inch silk dome tweeter is functioning correctly after installation?

Play a high-frequency test tone; the swivel NEO tweeter should reproduce clear output up to 20 kHz without distortion.

Does the package include the paintable grille and spring-loaded terminals, or must I buy them separately?

The paintable rust-resistant grille and custom compact spring-loaded terminals are already fitted to each speaker; nothing extra is required.
