Three-Way Tower Pair

The Edifier R2850DB is a pair of powered tower speakers built as a 2.0 system with a dedicated tweeter, midrange driver and woofer in each cabinet. Tri-amplified design assigns 14W to each tweeter, 16W to each midrange unit and 45W to each woofer for 150W RMS total. They suit listeners who want full-range stereo without a separate amplifier rack.

Sub-Out and Wired Inputs

A sub-out jack with a 100Hz low-pass filter lets you add an external powered subwoofer when deeper bass is required. Wired sources connect through two line-level inputs, an optical port and a coaxial port, covering turntables, TVs, set-top boxes and disc players. Bluetooth 5.1 is also available for wireless streaming.

Room-Filling Output

The 42Hz low-frequency reach and 150W continuous power fill spaces up to 100 square metres with music or film soundtracks. The three-way separation keeps vocals and instruments distinct at high volumes. Without an added subwoofer the system stops at 42Hz, so cinema LFE effects below that point are not reproduced.

Questions about this item

How much floor space does each tower speaker require?

Each tower cabinet houses an 8-inch woofer, a 4-inch midrange driver and a 3/4-inch silk dome tweeter in an MDF enclosure designed to minimise resonance.

Which cables do I need to connect a TV and a turntable at the same time?

Use the optical or coaxial input for the TV and one of the two line-level RCA inputs for the turntable; select the active source via the side-mounted control panel.

Can I add more bass later without replacing the speakers?

Yes, the built-in sub-out jack with a 100 Hz low-pass filter lets you connect a powered subwoofer to extend low-frequency response below 42 Hz.
