12" 700W Powered Subwoofer

The Elac Varro Reference RS700 is a powered subwoofer equipped with a 12-inch HEX surround woofer and 700 watts of amplification. It is built for home cinema and music listeners who want deep, controlled low-frequency output from a single self-contained unit.

Home cinema and stereo listeners needing deep bass

This subwoofer suits owners of AV receivers or stereo preamps who need authoritative output down to 14 Hz in-room. It is not for buyers who require wireless streaming, multiple driver arrays, or a compact cabinet that fits inside furniture.

Straightforward placement and wired setup

Connect the subwoofer using RCA line-level or speaker-level inputs and the 12 V trigger for automatic power switching. The iOS and Android app handles auto EQ calibration, so manual tuning is minimal; the main challenge is finding a suitable floor location for the 12-inch cabinet.

Questions about this item

What audio connections does my receiver need to send signal to the Elac Varro Reference RS700?

The subwoofer accepts RCA line-level and speaker-level inputs, so your receiver must provide one of those connection types.

Will the 12-inch HEX woofer and 700W amplifier overpower my older satellite speakers?

The app includes auto EQ and the subwoofer reaches 14 Hz in-room, letting you match its output to the existing speakers for a balanced blend.

How can I verify the subwoofer is reproducing the 17 Hz anechoic low end after setup?

Play a test tone at 17 Hz and use the iOS or Android app to confirm the driver is moving and the auto EQ shows response down to that frequency.
