License-Free FRS Communication

The EMERSON BF-33C pack supplies three handheld radios that operate on 22 FRS channels without a licence. Each unit weighs 5.3 oz and includes a belt clip for hands-free carry during family outings or outdoor games. Distinct colours let users identify their own radio at a glance. The set is ready to use straight from the box with no programming required.

Sustained Operation With Dual Power Options

Built-in 1400mAh lithium cells recharge via USB-C for daily use, while the 3.7 volt rail also accepts three AA cells as backup on longer trips. VOX enables voice-activated transmission so users can keep moving without pressing the push-to-talk button. Dual Watch monitors two channels at once, reducing missed calls during extended group activities.

Weather Alerts, SOS And Low-Power Efficiency

Twelve NOAA channels deliver real-time storm warnings while the radios run on standard FRS output power. An integrated SOS siren and flashlight activate with one press for emergency signalling. USB-C charging replenishes the lithium packs without proprietary adapters, keeping power draw simple and predictable for multi-day adventures.

Questions about this item

How long will the 1400mAh lithium batteries last during all-day outdoor use and can they be recharged via USB-C while hiking?

The included 1400mAh lithium batteries recharge through the USB-C port on each radio. A power bank or any USB-C source can top them up during a hike, and the radios also accept three AA cells as backup.

What must I already own to charge all three radios at the same time?

Each unit ships with a USB-C cable, so you only need a multi-port USB charger or several power banks to charge the trio simultaneously. No proprietary dock or cradle is required.

Will the BF-33C interfere with my older FRS handsets that only have 14 channels and no NOAA weather scan?

Both sets share the 22 FRS frequencies, so they talk to each other on any common channel. The BF-33C adds 12 NOAA weather channels and Dual Watch monitoring, which the older units simply ignore.
