Professional Handheld Radio

The EMERSON UV-21R is a water resistant dual band transceiver covering VHF and UHF frequencies. It offers 999 programmable channels with 50 CTCSS and 210 DCS codes for flexible group communication. A 1.77 inch colour display presents channel data clearly while NOAA weather receive keeps users informed of alerts.

Suited For Outdoor And Emergency Use

Hikers, campers and preparedness minded users gain long range voice contact plus hands free VOX operation and an emergency alarm. The Type C rechargeable 3.7 volt pack accepts power from vehicles or power banks. Buyers needing HF bands, integrated GPS mapping or Bluetooth audio should evaluate other platforms.

Capacity And Signal Headroom

The 999 channel capacity handles large channel plans with room for future expansion. The supplied 15.35 inch high gain antenna extends practical range in open terrain while the IP54 rating resists splashing water. Dense urban structures or heavy foliage will reduce effective distance below the quoted 3-5 mile potential.

Questions about this item

What antenna connector does the UV-21R use so I can attach the supplied 15.35" antenna?

The UV-21R uses a standard SMA-female connector; the included 15.35" dual-band antenna screws directly onto it.

Will the UV-21R's 999-channel memory and 50 CTCSS/210 DCS codes work with my older analogue radios on the same frequencies?

Yes — the UV-21R operates on the same VHF/UHF bands and supports 50 CTCSS and 210 DCS tones, so it can communicate with older analogue units programmed to matching frequencies and codes.

How can I confirm the UV-21R is transmitting and receiving correctly after I set it up?

Use the VOX function to speak without pressing PTT and watch the 1.77" colour screen for TX/RX icons and signal-strength bars; a successful two-way exchange with another radio on the same channel and tone verifies normal operation.
