HDMI to VGA Converter with Audio Extraction

The EN-Labs BOXHDMI2VGA converts a digital HDMI signal from a notebook, desktop or set-top box into an analogue VGA signal while extracting stereo audio to a 3.5 mm jack. It accepts HDMI input and draws power from the supplied 2 ft Mini USB cable. The adapter measures 66 x 55 x 20 mm and weighs 40 g.

Suitable for HDMI Sources Needing VGA Display

Users who want to connect an HDMI laptop, PC or media player to a VGA monitor or projector and send sound to external speakers will find this converter fits the task. It is not intended for buyers who require the reverse direction from VGA to HDMI, nor for installations that need an audio cable included in the box. The unit also lacks any upscaling capability.

Single-Direction Conversion Without Upscaling

The converter passes the input resolution directly to the output with no scaling, supporting 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1600x1200 and 1920x1080 at 60 Hz. If the source sends a resolution outside this list, the adapter will not create a compatible signal.

Questions about this item

What does the 1920x1080 resolution support actually deliver when connected to a monitor?

The converter passes the source signal up to 1920x1080 at 60Hz without upscaling, so the monitor receives the native resolution your laptop or set-top box outputs.

How does the HDMI input and VGA output limit the refresh rate or colour depth in practice?

The HDMI input carries digital video and audio, while the VGA output transmits analog RGB; the adapter supports the listed resolutions at 60Hz but does not add higher refresh rates or deep-colour modes beyond the source.

What physical space and connections are needed to install the 66x55x20mm unit?

The converter measures 66 by 55 by 20mm, weighs 40g, and requires an HDMI source, a VGA display cable, a 3.5mm audio lead, and the included Mini USB power cable plugged into a USB port.
