Connector types and direction

This adapter carries a 6.35 mm stereo male plug on one end and a 3.5 mm stereo female socket on the other. It lets devices fitted with a standard 3.5 mm jack connect to equipment that accepts a 6.35 mm stereo input such as amplifiers, mixers and home-theatre receivers.

Gold-plated contacts and TRS requirement

The contacts are gold-plated copper to resist corrosion and minimise signal loss. The adapter only works with TRS plugs that have three conductors; it will not function with two-conductor TS or four-conductor TRRS connectors.
