This cable splits one Mini SAS SFF-8087 36-pin male connector into four SATA 7-pin female connectors. It links a SAS controller or HBA to up to four SATA hard drives or SSDs. The red 50 cm assembly is built for internal chassis routing.

12.0 Gbps aggregate bandwidth

Each of the four lanes runs at 3 Gbps, giving a combined 12.0 Gbps across the link. The cable handles four SATA targets simultaneously but is limited to SATA 3 Gbps per drive. It does not support SAS drives or 6 Gbps SATA signalling.
