Outdoor 5 GHz CPE with 16 dBi antenna

The EnGenius outdoor CPE delivers 5 GHz 802.11ax connectivity through a 2x2 radio rated at 1200 Mbps. An integrated 16 dBi directional antenna focuses the signal for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint links up to four miles. The IP55-rated housing protects the hardware from dust and water ingress.

Upgrade from omnidirectional or lower-gain gear

Replacing an omnidirectional access point with this high-gain CPE concentrates RF energy toward the remote site, raising link budget and reducing interference. The jump is worth it when you need a dedicated long-range bridge between buildings rather than broad local coverage.

Verify mounting, power and management needs

Confirm you have a clear line of sight and a sturdy pole or wall for the directional antenna. The unit requires PoE power; check that your switch or injector supplies the required voltage. Ensure your network controller or the mobile app can manage the device for provisioning and RF tuning.
