The unit is bus powered and works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Chrome OS without any driver installation. An optional micro USB port accepts a standard 5 V adapter for demanding devices.

Check your computers and cables before ordering

Each computer must provide a USB Type-A port for the included USB A-to-A cables. Verify that both systems run a supported operating system such as Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP, Mac OS X, Linux or Chrome OS. If you plan to connect power-hungry peripherals like portable hard drives or SSDs, have a standard 5 V power adapter ready because the optional micro USB power port requires a separate supply.
