USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable for 8K output

This cable connects a USB-C source with DP Alt Mode to a DisplayPort 1.4 monitor. It supports 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz and 2K at 240 Hz. The 3.3 ft length suits desktop setups with a nearby display. It is not bi-directional and will not drive a USB-C monitor from a DisplayPort computer.

Triple-shielded copper construction with DSC 1.2

Triple shielding and solid copper conductors protect the 32.4 Gbps signal from interference. Display Stream Compression 1.2 enables visually lossless 3:1 compression so high resolutions reach the monitor without artefacts. HDCP 2.2 and HDR metadata pass through for protected 10-bit content.

Requires host DP Alt Mode and DisplayPort 1.4 sink

The USB-C port must implement DP Alternate Mode; Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports meet this requirement but plain USB 3.1 ports may not. The monitor must accept DisplayPort 1.4 signalling to unlock 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz. Bandwidth limits prevent higher refresh rates at 8K or uncompressed 10-bit 4K above 120 Hz.

Questions about this item

Will the triple-shielded cable degrade over time and need replacement?

The cable uses solid copper conductors and triple shielding to resist wear; no scheduled replacement is required under normal use.

At 32.4 Gbps bandwidth, what limits 8K 60 Hz output during long sessions?

The DisplayPort 1.4 link caps at 32.4 Gbps, so 8K 60 Hz 10-bit HDR is the maximum sustained resolution the cable can carry.

Does the 3.3 ft cable get warm or draw extra power when running 4K 144 Hz all day?

As a passive copper cable it draws no external power and generates negligible heat even at 4K 144 Hz continuous operation.
