ESTONE HY-5001 HDMI Audio Extractor

The ESTONE HY-5001 extracts audio from an HDMI source and sends video to a display while outputting sound through optical Toslink or stereo RCA connectors. It supports 1080p video pass-through and offers 2.0 or 5.1 channel audio modes. The compact unit is powered by an included 5 V adapter.

Suits setups needing separate audio paths

This extractor fits users connecting a Firestick, console, PC or Blu-ray player to a projector or TV that lacks audio outputs, or to a sound system without HDMI input. It is not for installations that require 4K video pass-through, more than one HDMI input, or audio formats beyond the listed stereo and 5.1 options.

Maximum resolution 1920 x 1080

The single specification that decides compatibility is the 1920 x 1080 video limit. If the source or display operates at 4K, this unit will not pass the signal correctly. Buyers must verify that their chain works at 1080p before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the extractor is passing 5.1 surround sound after connecting it?

Set the audio mode switch to 5.1CH, play a 5.1 source, and confirm your sound system receives discrete surround channels via the optical Toslink or RCA L/R outputs.

What comes in the box and which cables must I supply?

The package includes the extractor, a 5 V power adapter, and a user manual; you need to provide the HDMI source cable, an HDMI display cable, and either an optical Toslink or RCA stereo cable for audio.

Should I choose the 2.0 or 5.1 audio mode for my setup?

Use 2.0CH for stereo soundbars or two‑channel amplifiers; select 5.1CH when your receiver or speaker system decodes multi‑channel surround sound.
